Fashion Week is nowhere in the same league, and has instead become a celebration of our local fashion culture. Last night, Fashion Group International Los Angeles got a head-start on the LAFW festivities with the Meet The Designer & The Muse event where some of the town’s most renowned designers, fashion figures and their muses stepped out for the cause.

As Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, Sweet E’s Bakeshop amped up the sugar for the sweet holiday with their Pre-Valentine’s Day event Friday night. With cupcakes reigning as the dessert of choice for the last decade, guests enjoyed Sweet E’s version of the treat as a miniature indulgence you can finish in a bite or two (without sacrificing the flavor, of course), and were treated to mini-makeovers to ensure they look their best for the romantic holiday.

In the new movie Beneath The Darkness , which held its world premiere Wednesday night at the Egyptian Theatre, Dennis Quaid plays a small-town local hero who is (spoiler alert!) secretly a sadistic killer. In reality, however, the only thing Dennis Quaid enjoys killing is some tasty grooves, as he demonstrated when his band, Dennis Quaid and The Sharks, tore into a set of “rock n’ roll and country soul” at the after-party at the House Of Blues.
