Last night, a young, shiny crowd came out for the debut of photographer, filmmaker and frequent James Franco collaborator, Adarsha Benjamin’s first solo exhibition, Dreamscapes. Held on the roof of Siren Studios in Hollywood, the event was part of their Rooftop Sessions and gave us yet another reason to be very excited for summer.

Roofs were made to be partied upon. Thankfully, Siren Studios is well aware of this and utilizes the lovely one they have above their Hollywood location for their Rooftop Sessions artist series. Last night’s honored the big debut of Adarsha Benjamin’s Dreamscapes collection, her first solo photography exhibition. The event drew throngs of stylish, young Angelenos eager to get a first look at Benjamin’s photos and moving images in person with Soundscapes by Rocco Deluca, as well as an early start to weekend festivities with the rooftop soiree.

With DJ Ana Calderon covering the ones and twos, free flowing wine and cocktails, and a crowd of good-looking people, the nice weather highly conducive to partying out under the stars made the night complete. Okay, yes, technically we have outdoor events and rooftop parties in L.A. year-round, but don’t you like them so much more when it’s warmer out? Us too. Cheers to roof party season.

Courtesy of Total Traffic Los Angeles, we know that the route will run from its starting point on Rodeo Drive up Doheny, where the racers will then traverse the Sunset Strip, cutting up to Hollywood Boulevard just in time to completely eff up the “Sunday bus tours & movie theater” traffic and also to put the cyclists at risk of being assaulted by a crazed Jack Sparrow, Batman or Spongebob. The race then cuts back down to Sunset for the run past Dodger Stadium, and then enters Downtown for a long finishing loop down and around the Staples Center that should combine with the afternoon Kings and evening Clippers game to create a traffic situation that will make grown men openly weep. As you can see from the map below (click for a larger version), not only does this effectively sever most peoples’ easiest way to get across town, but depending on where you live, the planned times for reopening the “sectors” of closed streets vary wildly, so read those multicolor boxes along the top of the route to see when your part of town will be open for business again. And if you live downtown, seriously, don’t be a hero. Either only go out in walking distance (even the trains will probably be obscenely packed due to the games) or just stock up and stay home.

You could get pregnant two months from now, have the baby, and then it would be Coachella 2013. Just to put it in perspective, that’s how much your life could change between now and then. But I guess being one of those Coachella baby people next year is just not a concern to those who purchased tickets yesterday when the presale began and sold out in a matter of hours. The craziest part is, I’m not even a little bit surprised.

As we blasted out to the universe this week (hey, you guys read this shit, blame yourselves and Goldenvoice), Advance Sale tickets to Coachella 2013 went on sale yesterday at 10am PST. Although the presale was scheduled to last through next Thursday, the $349 General Admission and $799 VIP tickets to Coachella 2013 Weekend 1 (April 12-14) were all gone by about noon yesterday, and by 2pm for Weekend 2 (April 19-21). Four hours. No lineup? No problem. Completely insane. Batshit.

Regular sale of tickets to Coachella 2013 will go on sale early next year, probably when a lineup is announced. We actually have totally accurate lineup flyer HERE in case you’re wondering. Am I terrible for secretly hoping Nickelback and/or Staind will headline? Not because I like their music; then I’d already know I’m terrible. Because I think it would be hilarious for all the people who paid $800 for a ticket to something that doesn’t even exist yet. I just hope their newborn babies like Nickelback. Or Creed.

Is all this Coachella 2013 stuff news to you? Sure, it’s barely been a month since Coachella 2012 ended but you can’t impose your everyday real world logic and sane reasoning to this situation, bro. Last night, the new members-only offline and online network 24th Letter took over the Terrace at the swanky Sunset Tower for its second L.A. cocktail mixer where guests were able to enjoy panoramic views of the sunset over cocktails.

The 24th Letter brings together highly accomplished individuals in an array of fields for exclusive events like last night’s mixer where guests forge new connections. Set against the backdrop of the L.A. cityscape, 24th Letter picked an ideal spot to host their event in choosing the Terrace, giving guests a chance to take advantage on the balmy evening and these longer daylight hours we’ve been given as summer approaches. Attendees including Richard Johnson, DECADES’ Cameron Silver, publicist and socialite Annelise Peterson, and producer Gary Ventimiglia were among the many stylish professionals who joined 24th Letter’s CEO Lawrence Kaplan for the evening.

Last night’s mixer was just the second of many more L.A. monthly soirees 24th Letter members can expect to pop up on their social calendars.

Despite the fact that a good many out there are still paying off the costs to both their bank account and brain cell count of attending Coachella this year, we learned Monday that Goldenvoice very simply does not care. It hasn’t even been a full month since this year’s two-week desert music fest, but the unbelievably premature presale for Coachella 2013 tickets begins this morning. And as your faithful source for all things Coachella, we have the details on what you need to know about purchasing Advance Sale tickets to the festival that doesn’t even have a lineup when they go on sale in about 30 minutes.

Once again, Coachella 2013 will be held over two weekends: April 12-14 for Weekend 1, April 19-21 for Weekend 2. Advance sale for both weekends begins at exactly 10am PST from the official Coachella website. Brace yourselves because ticket damage has been jacked up from last year’s. Advance Sale, which lasts through next Thursday, May 24, 2012 at 10pm PST, is your one chance to take advantage of the Coachella Purchase Plan, a new feature that means the price you see is what you’ll pay (no additional shipping fees, etc.). Here’s a breakdown of the pricing:

• GA Festival Pass — $349 (up from roughly $315 with additional fees included for Coachella 2012)

• GA Festival/Shuttle Pass Combo — $399

• VIP Festival Pass — $799 (up from roughly $710 with additional fees included for Coachella 2012)

• Car Camping Pass — $85

• Camping Companion Parking Pass — $30

• Lake Eldorado Camping and Festival Pass Combo — $2,000 – $5,200

• VIP Parking Pass — $150 (aww, did you really think the $800 ticket included parking? That’s adorable.)

• Shuttle Pass — $50 – $80

Here’s a rundown what will happen when at 10am PST when Coachella 2013 Advance Sale begins on the Coachella website:

• First, you’ll have to select for which of the two weekends you want to purchase tickets.

• Make sure to refresh your browser page at or after 10am PST (you can’t access the presale before then).

• Once you do this, you’ll be given a code to enter to access the Standby Page where you’ll basically have to wait for some indefinite period until space becomes available for you to access the purchase page.

The general sale of Coachella 2013 tickets will likely happen when the lineup is released (probably January 2013). Please note that we think this is all completely insane. Just downright batshit.
